Review PROS Plan Draft & Provide Feedback

Ellensburg PROS Plan Draft coverThe public draft of the Ellensburg’s Parks, Recreation, Open Space and Sustainable Funding Plan (PROS Plan) is available for review, along with the park inventory appendix.

You can use this form to comment on the Public Draft of Ellensburg's Parks, Recreation, Open Space, and Sustainable Funding Plan (PROS Plan). This long-range plan establishes a strategic framework and funding strategy for the future acquisition, maintenance, development, renovation and restoration of Ellensburg’s parks, recreation facilities, natural open spaces, trail corridors, programs, and services over the next 10 years. The City will review all feedback before issuing the Final Plan.

The primary function of the City of Ellensburg Parks Maintenance Division is the maintenance and operation of our City’s park system and downtown beautification program. With a park system consisting of over 250 acres and a robust downtown beautification program, our Parks Maintenance Division, with five full-time employees and up to seven season employees, carries a tremendous workload. Turf and irrigation system maintenance, playground inspections, litter control, and keeping our restrooms clean are just a few of their tasks. In the winter time we oversee snow and ice removal from sidewalks in front of City facilities such as the Library, City Hall, and our four City operated recreation centers. A big thank you to the unsung employees in our Park Maintenance Divisions responsible for keeping our parks clean, safe, well maintained and fun!

Eighteen parks situated on 250 acres are maintained, day and night, by the Parks Maintenance Division.
