Special Message from the Library Director

May 31, 2020

Dear Library Patrons,

Phase 2 has finally arrived!!!! And for now, the library will be able to reinstate two services:

1. STARTING MONDAY, JUNE 1ST

Book return: The ALLEY book drop will be open Monday-Friday 9am-4pm. Please return your items during this time. The book drop will be closed before 9am and after 4pm and through the weekend. Any late fines accrued on patron accounts will be waived. 3rd Ave book drop will remain closed.

All library items returned will be quarantined for 4 days after being removed from book drop in order to mitigate any chance of COVID-19 being transmitted from items.

2. STARTING WEDNESDAY, JUNE 3RD (ONLINE ORDER) AND FRIDAY, JUNE 5TH (PICK-UP)

Online/Curbside service: You can now request up to 5 library items to check out and will be available for pick-up Monday-Friday 10am-11am and 4pm-5pm, by Ruby St. door. To order online, please visit our website for further instructions. During pick-up, please abide by social distancing when coming to retrieve your items.

All library items checked out will be cleaned and sanitized.

Unfortunately, our building still remains closed to the public but our staff will now be able to work in the building in a limited capacity to reinstate the two services. According to the Governor’s Phasing plan, libraries will not be able to open till Phase 3. However, we will continue to provide our online services which include:

• Temporary online library card registration available

• Due dates for items checked out extended and patrons not charged for overdue items

• Renewal of library cards

• Online collection and resources available to current card holders

• Virtual programs offered on a weekly basis

• WIFI available outside the building between the hours of 8am-8pm

Again we apologize for this disruption on normal library services. We are working hard to provide as much as we can while keeping the safety of staff, our patrons and community a priority. Thank you for your continued support and patience as we work through this difficult time. Please be safe and take care.

Sincerely,

Josephine Yaba Camarillo                                                                  camarilloj@ci.ellensburg.wa.us                                                                                                     (509) 962-7252
