Friends of the Ellensburg Public Library and Hal Holmes Center



About us

We are an all volunteer, 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing our city library and community center.  

The Friends Group

  • maintains an association of persons interested in libraries and the arts
  • raises funds for equipment and other needs of the library and the Hal Holmes center
  • sponsors culturally enriching community programs
  • generates support for the library and Hal Holmes center


Please join us. The Friends monthly meeting is on the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 4:00 pm in Hal Holmes.  The meetings are open to all.


Book Club Tea

Each April the Friends sponsor a book club tea social with a speaker, fine desserts and teas. The event is held the third Monday in April at the Hal Holmes Community Center, 7-9 pm.
This free event is open to all.

The Book Barn
Twice a month, on Saturdays from 1:15-4:00, the Friends hold a book sale in the basement of the Hal Holmes center.

Twice a year, the 1st Saturday of May and the third Saturday of October, bigger Biannual sales are held in the Hal Holmes Auditorium 9am-3pm.

Donations of books, DVD's and CD's may be brought to the library Circulation desk. Please make sure the items are current and clean. No textbooks, condensed books, or encyclopedias

2018 Book Club Tea (1)

Did you know that the Friends completely fund all youth and adult library programs? Here are a few members helping at the Summer Reading Kick-Off party.

FOL Rock
