The City of Ellensburg has a Utility Customer Support Program aimed at supporting low-income and vulnerable households during the response and recovery to COVID-19.

Updated senior and disabled low-income utility service rates effective January 1, 2020. Here is a summary of the updated rates:

HOW IT WORKS

Below are the steps to take to qualify for low-income senior and disabled
  1. Determine Eligibility: Senior (65 +) or Disabled. At or below 125% FPL
  2. Qualify: Be a City of Ellensburg utility customer, Non-subsidized housing, Live in home and utilities are in my name, Meet medical guidelines (disabled)
  3. Apply via HopeSource online or call (509) 925-1448.

During the application process, HopeSource will automatically sign you up for HopeSource's Energy Assistance Award in addition to the Ellensburg utility discount rate. If you do not want to participate in the HopeSource Energy Assistance Award, do indicate this at the time of application.

Our community partner, Hopesource, typically operates an energy assistance program from early October or November and continues until April or September, depending on available funds and your utility provider. For additional information about the types of assistance offered visit Hopesource
