City Wins New Public Gas Safety Good Samaritan Award
The City of Ellensburg Natural Gas Division won two national awards at the American Public Gas Association’s (APGA) annual conference in July 2024 — the new Public Gas Safety Good Samaritan Award and the Safety Contest Award for the fifth year in a row.
The Public Gas System Good Samaritan Award is a new award that recognizes employees from an APGA public gas system whose service to the community goes above and beyond their normal job duties by positively impacting lives during an emergency. Only one agency receives this honor.
City Gas Division staff strive to maintain the existing and install new infrastructure at the highest quality of service. The City of Ellensburg Gas Utility is one of only a handful of national public gas utilities to be recognized with a SOAR award (Level Silver) through the American Public Gas Association. The staff in the City Natural Gas Utility are proud to provide a safe, reliable, and efficient source of energy to the City and surrounding area.
