Open Gyms

The Ellensburg Parks and Recreation department in partnership with the Ellensburg School District will offer a variety of FREE Open Gyms. All participants are required to sign a waiver to participate. Youth under 18 will need a waiver signed by a parent or guardian upon entrance.

Open Gyms will begin Wednesday January 4, 2023 and end no later than Sunday March 12, 2023. The basic schedule below details each day’s Open Gym activities. The Google Calendar below list each Open Gym date, be sure to reference the calendar, as days and times of Open Gyms are subject to change. Open Gym closure dates are listed below:

Open Gym Closures***

Monday***

• Adult Open Gym Basketball
• Game play focused on half-court or full-court pickup basketball games
• This drop in day is not intended for team practices
• Gym: Morgan Middle School Main Gym
• Time: Gym opens at 6:45 pm and closes at 9:00 pm

Tuesday***

• Pickleball
• Four (4) courts will be available for drop-in play, courts will be designated with player skill level from Beginner, Intermediate, to Advanced
• Bring your paddles and balls
• Players are required to assist with cleanup of nets, litter, etc.
• Gym: Morgan Middle School Main Gym
• Time: Gym opens at 6:45 pm and closes at 9:00 pm

Wednesday***

• Recreation and Family Basketball
• Drop in is designed for individuals, youth, and families to shoot hoops and have fun!
• Youth under 18 will need a waiver signed by a parent or guardian upon entrance
• This drop in day is not intended for team practices or full court games.
• Gym: Morgan Middle School Main Gym
• Time: Gym opens at 6:45 pm and closes at 9:00 pm

Thursday***

• Pickleball
• Four (4) courts will be available for drop-in play, courts will be designated with player skill level from Beginner, Intermediate, to Advanced 
• Bring your paddles and balls
• Gym: Morgan Middle School Main Gym
• Time: Gym opens at 6:45 pm and closes at 9:00 pm

Sunday***

• Pickleball - 4:30 pm to 9:00 pm    
  • Four (4) courts will be available for drop-in play, courts will be designated with player skill level from Beginner, Intermediate, to Advanced 
  • Bring your paddles and balls
  • Nets provided by the Ellensburg and Recreation Department
  • Gym: Morgan Middle School Aux Gym
• Recreation and Family Basketball - 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm
  • Drop in is designed for individuals, youth, and families to shoot hoops and have fun!
  • Youth under 18 will need a waiver signed by a parent or guardian upon entrance
  • This drop in day is not intended for team practices or full court games.
