The Ellensburg Parks and Recreation Department provides an extensive range of programs and services for the community to enhance the lives of community members, residents, and visitors. The Parks and Recreation Department maintains and operates four indoor, year-round recreation facilities including a senior center, a municipal pool and fitness center, a youth and community center, as well as a racquet and recreation center.



Temporary Closure - Off-leash dog park 9/26-9/28
The Off-Leash Dog Park near Rotary Park will be closed Monday (9/26) through Wednesday (9/28) for some minor construction work. Check the City of Ellensburg and Parks & Recreation Facebook pages for updates.

2016 Gladiator Dash

Mud - Sweat - Cheers! The 2016 Gladiator Dash is now over. The goal of the Gladiator Dash is to promote an active and healthy lifestyle to youth entering graders K - 8. The dash includes running, jumping, sliding, crawling, balancing, hopping, climbing, throwing, and the opportunity to get physical.

Parks & Recreation Now Accepting Online Registration
The Ellensburg Parks & Recreation Department is excited to announce that it is now accepting online registration for most programming opportunities.  Online registration is currently available for swimming lessons, community recreation programs, and adult sport leagues.  Adult Activity Center programs, picnic shelter rentals, and other programming will be added soon. This also means that we now accept credit and debit payments onsite and online!  Links to online registration are available on most of the Ellensburg Parks & Recreation Department pages.

Quarterly Brochure
The Parks and Recreation Department publishes the Ellensburg Parks and Quarterly Brochure (view as .pdf) 3 times a year, which is a comprehensive catalog of activities, staff contacts, and Parks and Recreation news. The brochure is available on or around January 1st, May 1st, & September 1st of each year.
