The City of Ellensburg Landmarks and Design Commission is looking for a new member! This commission does important work within the community helping to preserve local social, cultural, and environmental historic resources within the city of Ellensburg. Members serve as volunteers typically working 2-3 hours twice a month. Meetings occur on the First and Third Tuesday of each month, at 5:45 pm in City Council Chambers.
Commission responsibilities include:
• Perform design review for proposed alterations to historic landmarks, or properties within historic districts.
• Award grant funding once a year for local historic preservation-related projects.
• Approve proposed special valuation proposals for historic properties.
• Promote historic preservation within the community.

We have a current opening for one (1) professional (active or retired) who works or worked among related fields of history, architecture, construction, landscape design, historic preservation, planning, anthropology, archaeology, cultural geography, American studies, land use law, or real estate (ECC 15.280.030).
