The City of Ellensburg seeks responses from builders and developers interested in constructing affordable housing in Ellensburg. The Request For Proposal (RFP) includes provisions for constructing the housing on city-owned land and provides financial incentives for builders/developers – nonprofit and private.
As housing prices continue to rise at a pace that exceeds individual wages, the city is looking at ways to make housing options attainable for more residents. To this end, the city is accepting applications from builders and developers to create new affordable housing in Ellensburg through September 30, 2019. Applicants may request funding assistance for the costs associated with property acquisition, construction, and rehabilitation projects for people earning 60% of Area Median Income*, and/or present a project proposal to be constructed on city-owned sites for people earning 80% or less of Area Median Income*.
The information and application instructions are available online.
