As your not-for-profit utility, the City of Ellensburg analyzes the cost of service and designs utility rates to recover the cost to serve our customers – no more, no less. Utility rates are proposed to and then approved by, the Ellensburg City Council by means of an Ordinance. The utility rates proposed for 2019 and 2020 will be presented to the Ellensburg City Council for first reading on December 3, 2018.
Utility rates for 2019 and 2020 will increase. We work hard to keep our costs down without compromising the quality city utility services our customers have come to rely upon.
An average residential utility bill for a full-service customer receiving water, sewer, electric, natural gas, and stormwater utility services from the City of Ellensburg in 2018 is $224.31 per month.
