The Building Appeals Board, Civil Service Commission, and Lodging Tax Advisory Committee are looking for interested citizens to fill vacancies.
The Building Appeals Board is responsible for hearing appeals of decisions or interpretations of the building official concerning alternate materials and types of construction as required in the International Building Code adopted by the City, and providing for reasonable interpretations of the provisions of the said code. There are two vacancies on this Board.
The Civil Service Commission makes rules and regulations regarding the manner in which EPD examination may be held and in which appointments, promotions, transfers, reinstatements, demotions, suspensions, and discharges shall be made; hear and determine appeals or complaints regarding the administrative work of the Personnel Departments, appeals of the allocation of positions, rejection of examinations, and other such matters as may be referred; provide for, formulate, and hold competitive tests to determine the relative qualifications of persons seeking appointment; and establish and maintain eligibility lists for various classes of positions. Currently, there is one vacancy.
