The City has contracted with the consulting firm DCG|Watershed to conduct a citywide street tree inventory. Their professional arborists will be inspecting and mapping existing trees within the rights-of-way along City streets. The arborists will be gathering basic information about each tree such as species, size, and condition. Residents can expect to see DCG|Watershed’s arborists in the area between August 22 and November 1, 2023, and can easily identify them by their orange vests.
The data collected as part of this project will be used to direct a future Urban Forestry Management Plan, which will be shared with the Washington State Department of Natural Resources for a statewide tree inventory.
