On August 17, 2016 City Council approved a Public Participation Plan to guide community outreach and involvement throughout the Comprehensive Plan update.
Our foundation - what matters most to you?
Check back at the beginning of 2017 to read a full report of the community responses!
In addition to an online survey available on Eburg Talks, city staff and volunteers have been visiting with community members at events, activities, and in classrooms to hear what matters most to our community, so far we have 743 responses.
See below for comments we have heard so far on what our community members love and what they think should be improved.
I really like the downtown and the large offering of events, you can tell there is pride in the community.
I love the small town character, safety, and security. I moved here because it was a good place to raise kids.
I love that we are a college town; adds culture, education, and activity to the small town.
I love the opportunities and proximity to outdoor activities.
Ellensburg is the right size; very livable, thriving community with an agricultural base.
I love the people first and foremost; people work hard and look out for one another.
I would like to see more family-friendly activities and entertainment.
We need a community center for community theater, arts, and other events.
I would like to see more of a connection established between the University and the greater Ellensburg community.
The interchanges and entryways into the community need to be more inviting to get people into the downtown.
We need a better town square area as a downtown gathering place.
