Concealed Pistol Licenses
• CPL applications and renewals will be processed by appointment only. City of Ellensburg residents, please call 509-962-7280, or send us an email to schedule an appointment.
• To save time and continue practicing social distancing, we ask that you fill out your CPL application prior to your appointment, if possible. Go to the Washington State Department of Licensing’s website for printable forms.
• We value your safety and the safety of our employees, so Records Specialists will wear a mask, gloves, and eye protection while fingerprinting.
• CPL fees: $49.25 new application, $32 renewal, $42 late renewal, $10 replacement. Please have cash or check ready at the time of appointment.

Reserve Academy
The purpose of the Reserve Officer Program is to train and equip state certified Reserve Officers to augment full-time officers for patrol duties. The application period for 2023 has closed.
In the summer
National Night OutEach year on the first Tuesday in August, this event is celebrated in communities throughout the United States.

A partnership with Special Olympics, Cop on Top helps raise awareness and funds for local athletes with intellectual disabilities.

Citizen's AcademyThe Citizen’s Academy is a program designed to provide participants a working knowledge of the Ellensburg Police Department. Classes and discussions provide a foundation where citizens learn about the duties and responsibilities of our department and the citizen’s role in the interaction of police. The application period for 2022 has closed.
