Local Galleries and Arts Organizations

The City of Ellensburg is home to a number of art galleries that host the works of local, national, and international artists as well as arts organizations presenting performing artists in theatre, music and dance.

420 LOFT
420 LOFT Art Gallery is located in the historic and newly renovated 420 Building. The gallery hosts local artist exhibits as well as provide public space for emerging student artists from Central Washington University.

Clymer Museum of Art
The Clymer Museum of Art hosts the permanent collection of John Ford Clymer, an important American artist. The Clymer endeavors to provide a venue for new and emerging artists, as well as creating exhibits of interest to the community at large. The Clymer is a First Friday Art Walk venue.

Gallery One
Visual Arts Center
Gallery One is a nonprofit organization that relies on community involvement and donations to keep its doors open. In addition to rotating exhibits of contemporary art, Gallery one offers a variety of quarterly classes, an art after school program, a gift store featuring regional artisans, a full ceramics studio available for rent and classes, inexpensive studio spaces for artists and facility rentals for the community. Gallery One is a First Friday Art Walk venue.

The Goodey Gallery
The Goodey Gallery, managed by the Western Art Association, features original fine art, giclee reproductions, cards and gift items. The Western Art Association (WAA) was formed in 1972 to promote interest in western art, artifacts and to preserve our unique western heritage. Thanks to its dedicated board members and the WAA membership, this non-profit corporation has remained alive and healthy for over 30 years.

Sarah Spurgeon Gallery, Central Washington University (CWU) Department of Art
The mission of the Sarah Spurgeon Gallery is to offer the campus of CWU and the community at large the opportunity to view and experience art first hand. The Gallery's exhibitions and related outreach programs (such as workshops, artist lectures, and interpretive programs) are designed to support the Department's educational objectives as well as to enhance, engage, and challenge the viewer’s knowledge and understanding of art. The Gallery also presents artists and viewers alike with opportunities to explore culturally diverse ideas in an academic environment and is a First Friday Art Walk venue. Gallery admission is free.
