Ellensburg Art Commission seeks applications for Poet Laureate

The Ellensburg Art Commission is accepting proposals from individuals to serve as the Poet Laureate. The individual selected to be the Poet Laureate will serve one year (with the option for renewal) and contribute to the growth of poetry in the community, make poetry more accessible to all, and promote the rich and diverse cultures of poetry in Ellensburg.

Eligible applicants will possess public presentation skills, have evidence of poetic achievement, be committed to awareness-raising of poetry, be at least 18 years old, and a Kittitas County resident. Deadline to apply is midnight March 16, 2020

Request for Funding
Applications to request funding are available. Requests will be reviewed, and funding decisions made late this year. Funds will be disbursed to selected applicants in 2020. View the 2020 request for funding

Participating Venue Agreement
The Ellensburg First Friday Art Walk is designed to showcase performing & visual arts on a monthly basis in galleries and non-traditional spaces in Ellensburg. Please download, review the criteria, and fill out the Participating Venue Agreement. The Agreement may be turned in to the Commission Secretary or to a current Commission Member.

Application for Appointment
The Ellensburg Arts Commission periodically has open positions. If you would like to become a member of the Ellensburg Arts Commission in order to help to advise the City of Ellensburg in art related matters, applications may be completed online here, downloaded or picked up from the City Manager’s office at City Hall. Applications may also be turned in to the Commission Secretary or to a current Commission Member.
Arts Treasure Nomination Form
The city of Ellensburg Art Treasure Award is given annually to a local artist who has contributed at least 15 years of service to the community. This year's award will be presented on May 19th.
