To ensure that Ellensburg provides families and individuals with safe and affordable places to live, on November 7, 2017 Ellensburg voters approved a 0.1% sales tax for housing and related services.
Housing is considered to be affordable if you spend no more than 1/3 of your monthly income on housing and basic utilities.
The Affordable Housing Commission administers the revenues generated by the sales tax for housing and related services. Additional duties include:
The Affordable Housing Commission meets the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month from 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm in City Council Chambers.
